HOLISTIC EDUCATION

Access to a comprehensive education, the possibility of a space where children and young people are listened to, supported, valued; We promote well-being and favor positive emotional climates, where children know that they can be themselves, where they are free to think and feel what they want; and that respect for others is a fundamental piece of coexistence in society. We bet on and value unity and love in the face of diversity, no matter where we come from.

IMPACT

Búho de Barro works with the Forest School methodology focused on 6 main axes.

EMPATHY FOR LIFE

Children and young people awaken an interest in nature and respect for the environment. Promoting knowledge of how systems interconnect and how we affect our environment will protect the environment. Children and young people generate an indissoluble bond from a young age with nature and with other living beings.

RISK MANAGEMENT

Children and young people should have regular opportunities to take appropriate risks (climbing trees, using tools, lighting fires, climbing rocks, etc.). These opportunities allow them to manage their own limits and impulses and thus self-regulate. Appropriate risk management is very important in their development to generate autonomy and have greater self-confidence, tools that will be very valuable throughout their lives.

SENSORY EXPERIENCES AND UNSTRUCTURED MATERIAL

We are committed to sensory experiences in nature, which are essential in the development of children in the first years of life and at the same time help the development of speech and language. Improving communication skills has a positive impact on the self-esteem of children and young people. We work based on unstructured material that we collect in explorations, which fosters the world of imagination and curiosity. Children and young people navigate a challenging environment that improves fine and gross motor skills.

PLAY SPACE IN FREEDOM

When children and young people leave their classrooms and come into contact with nature, the pressure on academic performance is reduced and each one plays and learns to the best of their abilities. This is very beneficial as it allows them to learn at their own pace. The Forest School are fun spaces, they are an educational space through play. Play in boys and girls should be free, through exploration, creativity and discovery. The greater the interest, the greater the motivation and learning. The boys and girls who live the experiences of the Bosque school are more motivated and happy.

SOCIAL SKILLS AND RESILENCE

The spirit of camaraderie occurs daily in nature. Teamwork encourages children and young people to apply what they learn in nature in other areas of their lives, while strengthening their social ties. The positive, safe and personalized environment fosters autonomy and confidence, with which children and young people grow more resilient for future challenges throughout their lives.
